Thomas More Project to join Brandon

We are very pleased to announce that as of 1 March, Bristol-based charity the Thomas More Project will become part of Brandon.

Thomas More Project currently provide support for thirteen adults with a learning disability in a mix of registered care and supported living settings. Like us, they are committed to providing the best possible support that enables people to thrive and to live their lives in the way they choose.

We have worked closely with the team at Thomas More Project over the course of the last year to make the move as smooth as possible for the people they support, their families and staff.

Their Chair of Trustees, Vicki Kaye, said:

“Through the hard work and commitment of everyone at the Thomas More Project, we have achieved an excellent level of high-quality, person-centred support over the years. We want to continue to improve on this and make sure that the people we support achieve even greater independence, choice and control over their lives.

“Last year, the Board undertook a robust process to consider what would allow this to be achieved in the future, against a backdrop of pressures that many small providers like Thomas More Project now face. This has ultimately resulted in us merging with Brandon, an organisation that is truly person-centred and shares many values with us.”

Our Chief Executive, Sue Porto added:

“We were delighted to be approached by the Thomas More Project and have the chance to discuss how we might work together to deliver our shared purpose of seeing the people we support live the lives they choose.

“The process of acquiring the Thomas More Project has been a truly collaborative one, with a focus firmly on the people they support, their families and staff. We are very much looking forward to them officially becoming part of Brandon, and continuing the excellent, person-centred care that Thomas More Project have provided for the last 40 years.”

We’d like to extend a huge and warm welcome to everyone involved with Thomas More Project. We’re very much looking forward to having you join us!
